Body & Soul - Tokyo & Kyoto

This video had me rolling in laughter!
Look.
Listen.
Learn.
The Canyons Of Ginza.
We arrived in Tokyo full of anticipation from everything we've ever read about Japan.
Safe.
Clean.
Polite.
Shoppers Paradise.
Sushi?
You can imagine our faces, when the porters
of our airport bus, yes airport BUS,
bowed to us as the bus pulled away!
All 3 of them.
Simultaneously.
Same body "angle" for the bow.
Only in Japan.
And that was a fabulous start to a memorable holiday!!!
" Fly Me To The Moon..."
Meiji Shrine.
Our trip to Japan, which actually was just 4 days in Tokyo & 4 days in Kyoto,
was a kind of a last minute thing.
You know.
How sometimes we make decisions not based on any actual thought pattern?
Purely instinct based, laced with a glass

or two of chilled,
crispy
Chardonnay.
I travel a fair bit for work & leisure.
And truthfully, I've become a lazy tourist.
Age?
Fortunately, Japan is a pretty easy place to holiday.
The culture, regardless if it's old or new, is present
everywhere.
Get that camera ever ready.
Photo opportunity is everywhere.
Even at the seven eleven!!!

Hmm...
I somehow expected Tokyo to be busy with traffic.
How untrue.
From what we could see, the roads were clear & super clean.
The Tokyo Metro is bi lingual.
Japanese & English.
This make it so easy to get around.
Speed,Convenience and Economy
 is what you get.
There are even mirrors on every platform.
So that one could check oneself
before
presenting yourself to the
world
above.

Sakura, sakura...
Listen.
8 days is not enough.
A month is perhaps better.
There's so much to see and do.
You OD on visuals at every corner.
It's a total sensory overload.
You see it,
You taste it.
Yeap.
You hear it.
Good smell is everywhere.
And of course, everything
begs
to be
touched.
Mamma...it's all too
foreign!?!
"Something in the wind...."
You know you're onto
a
good thing,
when you jump out of bed way
before the
alarm
rings!
Like and hour before.

(even though you've had a
late night
drinking at
The Mermaid Pub. )
"Did I comb my hair?
Everyone looks so put together.
Nowhere else have I seen
people so neat.

I mean REALLY neat.
And put together.
It makes you think...
"Walk On By..."
Our friends
Ruri & Hitoshi
were great guides.
Took us all around.
Walking mostly.
From one neighbourhood to another.
You definitely get to feel the
popular culture
that's taken over
Japan.
The Power Of The Young!!!
Envious?
Just look at that!!!
Probably too old to have history.
Harmony.
The sense of balance is in
every direction
you
lay your eyes
upon.

Tokyo.
A must visit.
Simply amazing.
Astonishing!!!
Ciao!
What!?!
This is a shot
from
the
Bullet Train.
Tokyo to Kyoto.
How Exotic it sounds!
Where!?!
The Bullet Train
 is a
 must
experience.
The roughly two and a half hour
journey
is not just pleasant
but
downright
comfortable.
You feel the speed.
And feast
on the
scenery.
With on board
service
that
some airlines
cannot
even dream about!
Some will say..."it's in the culture."
Right.
But I know the Japanese
add a great deal of
PRIDE
into
everything they

undertake.
Body & Soul !
